Error When Creating Database Document

If you own a Performa 630 CD or 637 CD, a corrupt System file may cause the ClarisWorks database to crash.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

Issue:
I have a Performa 630CD or 637CD computer and when I try to create a database in ClarisWorks I keep getting a Type 3 error or a Type 1 error. I can create any other document including Word Processing, Drawing, Painting, Spreadsheet, and Communications. Restarting with the Shift key down, Rebuilding the Desktop file, and resetting PRAM (Parameter RAM) all fail to help.

Solution:
Reinstall the System File or use the Performa CD to restore System software and restore only the System file. Then reboot (restart) the computer.

NOTE: If using the CD-ROM, restart from the CD-ROM before reinstalling the system file.

Why:
The System file on the Performa 630 CD or 637 CD computers may be corrupt.
