Delete Record and Find Again Have Same Key Equivalent

ClarisWorks 3.0 includes a new command for Delete Record in the Edit menu of the Database environment. Its key equivalent is Command-E, which is also the command key equivalent for Find Again.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

ClarisWorks 3.0 includes a new command for Delete Record in the Edit menu of the Database environment. Its key equivalent is Command-E, which is also the command key equivalent for Find Again. Thus, doing a Find via the Find/Change command in the Edit menu, clicking in the main window, and then pressing Command-E (Macintosh) or Ctrl-E (Windows) to Find Again will actually delete the current record instead of Finding the next occurrence. ClarisWorks does not warn you when deleting records.

Claris engineering is aware of this issue.

Until this is corrected, the current solution is to manually select Find Again from the Find/Change option under the Edit menu. Using the key equivalent will delete the current record consistently.
