FileMaker Pro and AppleWorks can both Paste from the Last Record making data entry much easier. ClarisWorks does not have a feature for accomplishing this task but a Macro can be made to simulate this feature. In fact, this Macro is exceptionally fast with very little screen interruption. Here are the steps:
1. Open your database and create a new record.
2. Put your cursor into any blank field on that new record.
3. Choose Record Macro from the Shortcut submenu under the File menu.
4. Hold down the Command and Shift keys and type the Return key once (this moves you to the previous record).
5. Choose Select All from the Edit menu.
6. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.
7. Hold down the Command key and type the Return key once.
8. Choose Stop Recording from the Shortcut submenu under the File menu (this moves you to the next record).
Make sure to assign a keyboard equivalent to the Macro so it is easy to initiate.
