Changing Location of Claris Directory when installing ClarisWorks 3.0 If the option for changing the location of the CLARIS directory during installation of ClarisWorks 3.0 is either not available or is grayed out, it is possible that the installer is detecting another copy of ClarisWorks on the system. A typical scenario might be a network administrator setting up ClarisWorks to run off of a network server or drive.
If a previous version of ClarisWorks (or other Claris application) has been installed on the machine where the network installation is taking place, the install program will detect the presence of the existing CLARIS directory and not allow you to change it's location. The workaround to this is to delete or move your CLARIS directory so that the install program doesn't detect it.
After doing this, the install program will add a "Claris Directory" option to the bottom of the custom install dialog box which will allow you to specify another location for the CLARIS directory.
