A Windows utility called WinProbe may interfere with the installation of ClarisWorks 3.0v2. WinProbe is a utility that displays detailed information about the computer's system configuration. Having WinProbe installed on your system may cause the ClarisWorks Installation to display partial screens, making the program impossible to install.
To remedy the issue, you want to remove the Resource Optimizer component of WinProbe from your Win.INI file so it will not interfere with the ClarisWorks installer.
To make these edits do the following:
1) From the Program Manager choose Run from the File menu
2) In the Run dialog in the command line type: sysedit
3) Click OK (this will bring up your system configuration editor)
4) Click on the tile bar of the window that says- C:\\WINDOWS\\WIN.INI
5) Locate the line that says LOAD=
6) Delete "optmod.exe" from this line (this can be added back after ClarisWorks is installed)
7) Choose Save from the File menu and then Exit
8) Make sure all your applications are closed in Windows and then exit Windows.
9) Restart Windows and run the ClarisWorks installation again.
Note: This issue does not occur with ClarisWorks 3.0v1.
