On page 1 of the ClarisWorks 4.0 Installation Guide, it states that System Update 3.0 is recommended for customers using System 7.1, 7.1.1, or 7.1.2 and that System 7 tune-up version 1.1.1 is recommended if you are using System 7.0 or 7.0.1. This information is intended only as helpful advice, relating to the general use of your Macintosh computer.
The tune-up addresses many system-level issues relating to memory, file storage, speed and printing which could affect any of the programs you use on your Macintosh. Similarly, the System Update 3.0 provides system-level improvements to increase overall system performance and reliability on most Macintosh models.
Both of these updates are designed by Apple Computer to improve the functioning of your computer at the system level. They are not required to operate your computer or to run ClarisWorks.
These updates can be obtained at Apple Software Updates online. Please contact Apple Computer regarding further information.
