New Features in ClarisImpact 2.0

Introducing ClarisImpact 2.0--Claris Corporation's cross-platform business productivity tool for creating professional looking business graphics. A myriad of new features and enhancements make ClarisImpact 2.0 the speediest tool for creating and editing flow charts, org charts, calendars and more. The new features are explained briefly below.

Cross-platform support
While the enhancements to the ClarisImpact original feature set are profound, among the most impressive of its improvements is the effortless sharing of ClarisImpact files between Windows and Macintosh computers. This means that ClarisImpact 2.0 provides the fastest way to create high-quality diagrams, charts, presentations and more, on both the Macintosh and the PC!

DataDraw chart and graphing feature
This dynamic new feature provides an automated method for creating a diagram or chart from data exported from FileMaker Pro or any database which supports tab or comma delimited export files. By automatically turning names, dates and numbers into org charts, schedule charts, data charts or calendars, DataDraw gives you "at-a-glance" insight into the information in your database.

Organization chart enhancements
It's easier than ever to make complex organization charts fit into your available space with the addition of boxes that grow automatically and shrink automatically when data is added or deleted form a chart, tighter spacing between boxes and the ability to resize the entire org chart. New flexibility makes customizing the ClarisImpact pre-designed layouts fast and intuitive. For example, you can now specify the entire document reduced to fit a single page by just one click of the mouse!

New flow chart diagrams and symbols
Flow charts now include nine symbol sets to create a much wider variety of connected diagrams including Telecommunication and Transportation networks, Decision Trees, Brainstorming, Root Cause Analysis, Total Quality Management and Block Diagrams. New symbol creation controls, and the ability to attach text to a connector make flow chart creation easier and speedier.

Scheduling charts
Scheduling timeline charts are easier to read and easier to use for simple project planning or status reviews. Gridlines automatically adjust to match your project dates, tasks can be linked and unlinked to one another, and any task can be designated as a milestone.

Redesigned styles
All of the ClarisImpact styles have been professionally redesigned to reflect today's business standards. The styles now include customizable layout selections for each graphic that can be mixed and matched with a new selection of color and black & white styles. This combination speeds your graphic creation by allowing you to mix a pre-designed font and color scheme with whichever layout best communicates your data.

New presentation tools
To make communicating your ideas easier, the re-vamped presentation environment includes an integrated outliner to organize your thoughts before they appear on your slides and a slide sorter to view and rearrange your entire presentation at-a-glance. Speaker notes help you deliver your presentations while the new slide transitions and styles add a touch of pizzazz to on-screen presentations.

Spreadsheet functionality in tables
In addition to handling regular text, tables now offer the functionality of spreadsheets by supporting industry-standard formulas and summationsÑall of which are well documented in the extensive on-line help system.

More intuitive data charting tools
We've added many new chart types, simplified the terminology and included more ways to customize the charts to match your data.

More types of calendars supported
Calendars now better match basic business requirements by supporting week number display and the creation of
weekday-only calendars. New calendar art for graphically highlighting holidays and other common events are also
included.

Improved graphics tools
A broader palette of colors and gradients offers more artistic flexibility, plus the new Object Info palette and new zooming controls offer greater control to get your work done faster. New clip art libraries offer a colorful variety of high-quality art to use in creating clip art and block diagrams.
