ClarisWorks 4.0, 5.0: Assistants, Library Art Not Listed

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

Note: The information in this article applies to the following software:
  • ClarisWorks 4.0
  • ClarisWorks 5.x
  • AppleWorks 5.x
If you are using ClarisWorks 4.0 or 5.x, or AppleWorks 5.x, and your Assistants and Stationery files are not listed in the New dialog (or your libraries are not showing in the Library list in the File menu), check the following:

Verify that the application is in the same folder as these folders:Note: AppleWorks users will find that the folder names begin with "AppleWorks" rather than "ClarisWorks".

When the application is installed, it creates a new folder on your hard drive containing all of these folders. If you would like to move the application to another place (Apple Menu Items, Launcher, Desktop...) do the following:

If you had a previous version of ClarisWorks, there may be a ClarisWorks Stationery folder in your Claris Folder in your System Folder. You will see that the contents are very similar to the ClarisWorks Stationery folder contents in the ClarisWorks 4.0 folder. If you wish to combine the two stationery folders, keep the new ClarisWorks Stationery folder in the ClarisWorks 4.0 folder. Move any desired stationery from the "old" stationery folder into the new one in the new ClarisWorks 4.0 folder. Then throw out the old ClarisWorks Stationery folder from the Claris folder.
