ClarisWorks 4.0 Macintosh Trial Software on CD

The first release of the ClarisWorks 4.0 Trial Software had incorrect instructions and an incomplete set of files.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

ClarisWorks 4.0 Trial Software is a limited version of the full application. It cannot save, and prints with the words 'ClarisWorks Trial' in the background. The trial software includes only some of the Stationery documents, Libraries, and Assistants. In addition it comes with installation and usage instructions that walk you through trying the product.

The first release of the ClarisWorks 4.0 Trial Software took place on the Trial Software CD . This version had incorrect instructions and an incomplete set of files. The part number for the affected CD is U95073-015B. This number can be found on the CD itself.

The problems on this CD are in the Begin document which walks you through trying the software. In this document you are instructed to:
- Save the database file they create to use in mail merge.
(Problem: It is not possible to save a document in the trial version.)
- Use the Final Newsletter document as a guide for the document you were creating.
(Problem: This document is missing.)
