ClarisDraw has an issue with tabs following hanging indents in a text frame that do not have some text entered at the tab. To reproduce the issue, follow these steps:
1. Turn on Text Ruler
2. Create a text frame that extends from 1" to 7.5".
3. Hold down the option key and move the right margin indicator (the sideways triangle on the left side of the ruler) to the 2" marker.
4. Place a left align tab at 2.25".
5. Place a right align tab at 7.25".
6. Press the tab key and type in the number 1.
7. Press the tab key and type in "Some Text"
8. Press the tab key and type in "Right Side"
9. Press the return key.
We are now on the second line of your text frame. We want to add some more descriptive text below "Some Text" without putting in a new line number.
10. Press the tab key. This takes you to the hanging indent.
11. Press the tab key again. Gee, what happened to the cursor???
The cursor has jumped to the right align tab on the right side of the page. Please note that the type of tab is not important, it just skips the first tab after the hanging indent.
The workaround is to enter a <space> after pressing the tab key to get to the hanging indent in step 10.
This problem does not occur in ClarisImpact or ClarisWorks.
