Word Count Causes System 7.0 Through 7.0.1 Macintosh Computers to Crash

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.
The Word Count command in ClarisWorks 4.0 does not work properly on Macintosh computers running System 7.0. through 7.0.1. Attempting to execute a word count will cause the machine to crash. In addition, the shortcuts for converting text to all uppercase and all lowercase do not work.

At the present time, the only solution is to upgrade your Macintosh to System 7.1 or higher.
