The three items listed above enable the U.S. system to accept Cyrillic characters and use Cyrillic fonts.
U.S. ClarisWorks on non-U.S. operating systems
U.S. ClarisWorks will work on a localized operating system as long as the above three items are installed.
Considerations when running an application on a different system:
As is the case with running on two different systems, character mapping will differ when you work with any version of ClarisWorks on systems with different character encodings, even when you can type Cyrillic characters and use Cyrillic fonts. Depending on how a particular character on a system is mapped to another character on a different system, there could be instances where a letter in the alphabet will be mapped to a punctuation character and vice versa. Therefore, things like word selection (double-click) won't work properly, because the punctuation character (such as comma or period) in the U.S. ClarisWorks could be mapped as a letter character on the Russian system. So, when you double-click, ClarisWorks is only going to select up to that letter character for the same reason that it only selects up to a period or comma had one double clicked on a U.S. system.
