System 7 Tune-Up, System Update 3.0 and ClarisWorks 4.0

An explanation of the recommendations made on page 1 of the ClarisWorks 4.0 Installation Guide

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

On page 1 of the ClarisWorks 4.0 Installation Guide, it states that System Update 3.0 is recommended for customers using System 7.1, System 7 Pro (System 7.1.1), or System 7.1.2, and that System 7 Tune-Up 1.1.1 is recommended for customers using System 7.0 or System 7.0.1. This information is included only as helpful advice on how to get the best performance and reliability from your Mac OS computer.

These tune-ups address many system-level issues that relate to memory, file storage, speed, and printing that can affect any of the programs that you use on your Macintosh.

Although neither of these updates are officially supported by Apple Computer, Apple Computer continues to make them available for download both via the Internet.

If you have Internet access, use your World Wide Web browser to access the following URL:

In addition to the updates mentioned in the ClarisWorks 4.0 Installation Guide, Apple Computer has also made an update available for users of System 7.5. This update is called "System Update 1.0 for System 7.5" and is also available from the above-mentioned services.
