Avoiding application and growstub errors

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

If you're getting an "Application Error", "Growstub caused a General Protection Error (GPF) in module Pointer.dll" with the options to [ CLOSE ] or [ IGNORE ], you should select close. This will isolate the incident, close the application and let you proceed in Windows. This error generally occurs under the following circumstances:

--Using Windows 3.11
--Running Microsoft Mouse Driver v9.01
--Launching Claris Impact 2.x

The error occurs as a result of going into the "Mouse Manager" software and exiting or canceling out and not restarting Windows. To avoid this error, after using Mouse Manager, just restart Windows.
