WorldScript is the Apple Macintosh technology that allows more than one language's system of fonts, keyboards, and input methods to exist in the system software at the same time. It is available for System 7.1 or later.
ClarisWorks 4.0 and ClarisWorks/AppleWorks 5.0 (U.S. versions) software support the following language scripts:
Roman (The standard English script. This script is also used for Italian, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, French Canadian, German, Norwegian, Spanish and Swedish)
Japanese
Chinese (both simplified and traditional)
Cyrillic
These scripts read left-to-right, like English. Please note that the Japanese and Chinese Language Kits allow only left-to-right text in ClarisWorks, not top-to-bottom vertical text.
Scripts that read right-to-left, such as Arabic or Hebrew, are not supported in the U.S. versions of ClarisWorks. Arabic versions or Hebrew versions of ClarisWorks are not available in the U.S. due to distribution agreements, even though the promotional materials, the box, and the Read Me file which ships with the language kits may give the impression that they are.
The only way to use the Hebrew or Arabic Language Kits and have right-to-left text in ClarisWorks is under the following circumstances:
1. The U.S. version of the Mac OS
2. ClarisWorks Hebrew or ClarisWorks Arabic (neither of which is available in the U.S.)
3. The Hebrew or Arabic Language Kit.
