The following issues have been corrected in ClarisWorks 4.0v2 for Windows 95:
1. Receiving an error message, "Internal Spelling Error SPL01," when spell checking in ClarisWorks for Windows.
NOTE: If you received version 4.0v2 in the box, the above issue will never occur.
2. Font corruption issues in files converted from ClarisWorks 3.0 for Windows. Files which were created in 3.0, opened in 4.0, saved, closed, and reopened should no longer exhibit random font/size/style changes.
3. Printing issues. A specific fix corrects the situation where ClarisWorks would crash when attempting to print a spreadsheet document which contained a cell with currency formatting and a value of 0 (zero). More importantly, a general fix corrects various sporadic printing issues associated with a variety of Windows 95 printer drivers (particularly, certain Canon BubbleJet drivers). Because this fix is rather vague, because many of the tested drivers exhibited issues in other Windows 95 applications, and because SQA does not know all of the affected printers, the ReadMe contains only very broad language on this subject, as follows:
"ClarisWorks 4.0 was tested with the printer drivers which ship with Windows 95. If you encounter difficulties while printing, you may be using a printer driver which does not function correctly with Windows 95. Reinstall the printer using the driver that came with Windows 95. Set this printer as the default printer driver."
"If you are having difficulty with a printer driver which was released after Windows 95 shipped (August 1995), make sure you are using the latest version of the driver. If that doesn't work, try going back to the version that shipped with Windows 95. If this fixes the issue, contact that printer manufacturer."
"If you encounter printing errors while printing Gradients to inkjet printers, try the Faster Gradients option. Choose Preferences from the Edit menu. In the Preferences dialog box, click the Graphics icon in the scrolling list, then select Faster Gradients."
"If you have a color matching issue, make sure you are using a Windows 95 compatible video card and printer drivers."
4. International versions of ClarisWorks 4.0v2 will now support accent marks in dialog box text.
5. The RTF filter was updated to fix a couple of issues. Most notably, ClarisWorks will no longer crash when attempting to convert RTF files that were originally created in MS Word 6.0 or AmiPro.
