ClarisWorks: Plotting Null Values

Null values plot as zeros in a ClarisWorks charts. Below is a work around to hide unwanted plot lines.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

In a ClarisWorks spreadsheet line chart, a cell with no value is treated as a zero and plotted accordingly. This technique results in a chart that accurately reflects a null value.

- Create the chart with the null value.

- Using the line drawing tool, draw in plot lines directly over the existing lines. Do not draw in lines connected to a null value.

- Select the plot line with the issue by clicking in the associated color box in the legend.

- Use the line tool to select Other for the line width and set it to 0. The lines generated by ClarisWorks will disappear leaving the drawn in lines that accurately reflect a null value.
