There are a few issues that can occur when using AppleScript to save ClarisWorks 4.0 documents with an XTND Translator. For instance, if you wanted to save the active Word Processing document with the MacWrite 5.0 XTND translator you would use the following script:
tell application "ClarisWorks"
activate
save document 1 in "MyFile" using "MacWrite 5.0"
end tell
If the XTND translator is not spelled exactly as it appears in the Save As dialog popup menu then the XTND translator will not be used. The XTND translator files contained within the Claris folder on the hard disk are not always named the same as what appears in the Save As dialog. For example, the translator in the Claris folder is named "Microsoft Excel 3-4" but appears as two translators in the Save As dialog.
In addition, the XTND translator may be ignored if capitalization is incorrect. For instance, "MacWrite II" needs to be spelled with a capital "M" and a capital "W".
