ClarisWorks and Art Explosion - MTIFF Translator

Nova Development's Art Explosion clip art collection uses a special "MTIFF" translator that may conflict with the existing TIFF translator in ClarisWorks.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

Users who install Art Explosion automatically install an XTND translator called MTIFF. This allows ClarisWorks to open the files on the Art Explosion CD ROMs. However, Claris's TIFF translator is left in place and the two may conflict. Users must remove the old TIFF translator in order to open the clip art items. MTIFF is supposed to also handle normal TIFF files; this has not been conclusively tested by Claris.

The MTIFF XTND translator is not a Claris product, it is a product of Nova Development, the makers of Art Explosion.
