Claris Impact 2.0 Windows Cannot Open A ClarisWorks 4.0 Document

When attempting to open a ClarisWorks 4.0 Document in Claris Impact 2.0, an error message is generated.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

When attempting to open a ClarisWorks 4.0 Document in Claris Impact 2.0, you will receive the following error message:

"This is a ClarisWorks 4.0 document. Claris Impact cannot open a ClarisWorks 4.0 document."

This is due to the fact that the ClarisWorks translator that ships with Impact 2.0 will not recognize the ClarisWorks 4.0 file format.

You can still convert your ClarisWorks 4.0 document into a Claris Impact 2.0 document by saving it in a file format that Impact can read. For instance, you can save the document as .WMF (Windows Meta File), or as .PCT (PICT), both of which can be opened by Impact.
