The ClarisWorks for Kids integrated software package, designed specifically to help children in grades K - 5 (ages 5-11) excel in school and inspire learning at home, is now available. Based on ClarisWorks 4.0 software, ClarisWorks for Kids allows students to communicate their ideas in a variety of creative, powerful, and fun ways.

With more than 75 fun and creative activities -- from charting the weather to measuring plant growth -- ClarisWorks for Kids provides rich educational content in many subjects, including language arts, math, history, geography and science. Teachers as well as parents can easily design new activities in ClarisWorks 4.0 software, since it is document-compatible with ClarisWorks for Kids. A password protected adults-only menu lets adults customize the use of ClarisWorks for Kids to suit different age levels and activities.

Ability to create templates in ClarisWorks 4.0 is key
The ability to create custom templates in ClarisWorks 4.0 is one of the key features of ClarisWorks for Kids because it gives teachers, parents, and outside developers the ability to put together an almost unlimited number of lesson activities. Work sheets, special projects, even entire units (related activities on a specific subject) can be assembled, shared with colleagues, or marketed.

Special features
Among the features that make ClarisWorks for Kids a true standout are its large collections of sounds, movie clips and educationally relevant clip art, all designed to allow students to make creative, exciting documents, reports and graphs. Also included are easy-to-read penmanship fonts, an intuitive filing system and musical color palettes. A text-to-speech command lets students hear their work read back to them.
