ClarisWorks 5.0 is available as an 'application only' Upgrade or as a new Retail product which includes the application, some added ClarisWorks templates, Claris Home Page Lite, and additional 3rd party items such as Jian Business Templates and some Internet Service Provider software.
If you own an earlier version of ClarisWorks, you have an option to buy either the Upgrade or the Upgrade and the content of the Office product. If you qualify, the second offer allows you to get the same extra items which a new ClarisWorks Office Retail customer gets, but at a price "net" the Retail in-box rebate.
If you buy the Upgrade CD and the ClarisWorks Office CD through our upgrade mailing offer you are entitled to one license of the ClarisWorks 5.0 application even though you will get two CDs. Each CD has the ClarisWorks 5.0 application, but only the Office CD has the added items. So, if you purchase both the ClarisWorks 5.0 Upgrade CD and the ClarisWorks Office CD, you will receive two copies of ClarisWorks 5.0 (one copy ships on each CD), however, having a second copy of ClarisWorks 5.0 does not constitute the grant of a second software license. You can install from either or both CD's, however, you are allowed legally to use only one version of ClarisWorks 5.0.
To get the benefits of having purchased the Upgrade with the Office content, it is recommended that you follow these procedures:
1. If you haven't already installed ClarisWorks, the best advice is to install from the Office CD, and to put the 5.0 CD away in storage should something happen to your Office CD.
2. If you have already installed from the 5.0 CD, you can do a custom install of ClarisWorks from the Office CD to get just the extra templates. Everything else on the Office CD (Home Page Lite, Internet Service Provider software, trial applications) has its own installer, so you can make individual decisions about which of these items you want to install.
