If a customer is unable to open a previously-saved document, check to see if they have (or have had) Deneba Canvas version 5.0 installed. A problem with the installer for that program makes ClarisDraw files unopenable.
To fix further occurrences of this problem:
1. Download the updater from the Deneba website www.deneba.com
2. Quit the Claris application, then trash the Claris Fonts file.
To fix files that have already been damaged:
Open the file using Norton Disk Editor. In an untouched ClarisImpact or ClarisDraw document, the third "word" (set of 2 characters) will be D0 (that's D-zero). However, in a corrupted file, the third "word" will be 00 (a null value). Simply changing this word back to D0 will fix the problem.
