ClarisWorks 5.0 for Windows: Cannot Install With DOS Compatibility Cards

There is a known problem with all DOS compatibility cards (on any computer, with any CD-ROM driver) where the system will not recognize any DOS CD's that are not in ISO-9660 format. This means other disc directory formats (such as High Sierra, Romeo, and Joliet) will not work on any Macintosh or compatible computer with a DOS Compatibility Card.
The ClarisWorks Office CD is not truly ISO-9660 (because it contains long file names on the PC side of the disc, whereas the ISO standard uses strictly "eight-dot-three" file names) so these discs cannot be used on DOS Compatible systems to install the WINDOWS 95/NT version of ClarisWorks 5.0.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

Note: AppleWorks is the new name for ClarisWorks.
