Newer systems (based on the ATX main logic board standard) can automatically power-down when Windows 95 shuts down. Shortly after showing the &quot;It is now safe to turn off your computer&quot; screen, a software signal is sent that powers off the computer.<BR>
<BR>
Windows NT 4.0 is capable of doing the same thing, but does not do so by default. To enable this feature:<UL>1. Start RegEdit (regedt32.exe) <BR>
2. Scroll down to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows<BR>
NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon <BR>
3. Edit the following item: PowerDownAfterShutdown: REG_SZ:0. Change it to PowerDownAfterShutdown: REG_SZ:1.</UL></div>
