We have verified a driver compatibility issue with TEAC CD-Roms with some or all of the following symptoms:
1) Neither the CD-Rom nor the CD-Rom controller are listed under Device Manager in the System Control Panel.
2) The complete contents of the Claris Works Office CD are not visible.
3) Autorun does not work, even with Auto-insert Notification checked (in the properties for the CD-Rom drive).
4) Installer quits with a "language not found" error.
Solution seems to be to update the drivers for the CD-Rom drive. Drivers for desktop CD-Roms can be obtained via the web at
http://www.teac.com/dsp/cd/dkcdrom.html. You will need to know the model of your TEAC CD-Rom.
This may or may not happen with other CD-Rom drives, but TEAC is by far the most prevalent.
