The new PowerBook G3 Series uses a new modem design that places the modem and RJ-11 jack on two separate boards. The modem ports are also in different locations on the two computers.
On the PowerBook G3 Series the modem port is on the left side next to the PC card slot. On the PowerBook G3 Series (Bronze keyboard), the modem port is at the rear of the computer.
