QuickTime Streaming: Server Requirements

This article provides the hardware and software requirements for the QuickTime Streaming server and the client workstations.
QuickTime Streaming is very processor intensive. Therefore, the computer being used as the server should be dedicated as much as possible to streaming. It should also be the highest performance processor available for use.

Client workstations should be a PowerPC-based computer with at least 32 MB of memory, running Mac OS 8.0 or higher, and have QuickTime 4.0 or later installed. A static IP or DHCP address is also required because MacIP is not supported.
