Power Macintosh G3 (Blue and White): Mac OS Version Misprinted on Some CDs
Some Software Install or Restore CDs that came with Power Macintosh G3 (Blue and White) computers mistakenly state the system software version as 8.6.1.
This is a misprint on a limited number of the CD-ROM discs, part number 691-2321. The actual version of the Mac OS on the CD is 8.6, there is no version 8.6.1.
This misprint also affects the Macintosh Server G3 CD part number 691-2322, as well as the SoftRaid CD part number 691-2329.
New CDs are being introduced into the Accessory Kits with the correct Mac OS version listed.
