Power Mac G4: iMovie and iDVD Restore or Reinstall

Symptom

There are no installation discs for iMovie or iDVD.

Solution

For Power Mac G4 (QuickSilver) and (QuickSilver 2002) computers

iMovie and iDVD are preinstalled on the computer's hard disk. If you delete iMovie, iDVD, or parts of these applications, and then later decide you want to use either of them, you may restore the hard disk by using the Apple Software Restore discs that came with the computer.

For Power Mac G4 (Mirrored Drive Doors)

iMovie, iTunes, and iPhoto are included as part of the Mac OS X 10.2 Installation disc. If you delete any part of these applications and then later decide you want to use them you can reinstall them by following these steps:

1. Insert the Mac OS X Installation disc 2.
2. Double-click "AdditionalApplications.pkg".
3. Type in your password, and click OK.
4. Click Continue at the Welcome to the Additional Applications Installer.
5. Select the destination disk, and click Continue.
6. Click Install.

Note: The additional applications cannot be selectively installed. This will reinstall iMovie 2.1.2, iPhoto 1.1.1, iTunes 3 and Acrobat Reader 5.0.5.
