Mac OS X Server 1.x: Apple File Services Installed Files

Apple File Services installer is integrated into the core OS installer and installs the items below into appropriate locations within the local file system hierarchy.
Note: This article pertains to Mac OS X Server versions 1.x, which were released prior to May 2001.

Apple File Services Server
(/usr/sbin/AppleFileServer)
The core AFP server application, which is a daemon process.

Server Control API Framework
(System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ServerControl)
The Server Control API framework is shared with QuickTime Streaming server

Remote Admin CGI
(/System/Library/RemoteAdminServer/CGI-Executables/)
A lightweight pass-through process that is invoked by the web server and in turn transmits requests to the Web-Based Admin Server. It also receives the reply from the Web-based Admin Server and transmits it back to the web server, which then sends the reply back to the browser.

Remote Admin Server (/System/Library/RemoteAdminServer/FastCGI/RemoteAdminServer)
Handles authentication and majority of admin tasks.

Remote Admin Java and Image Files (/System/Library/RemoteAdminServer//Documents/)
Java classes are used for authentication and password encryption.
