Note: This article pertains to Mac OS X Server versions 1.x, which were released prior to May 2001.
New Features
The following new features have been added to the NetInfoManager application since Developer Releases:
- A new look has been provided for the properties and values editor. Multi-valued properties are now displayed as a list of values, and must be opened (with the triangle next to the property name) in order to be edited.
- There are now cut, copy, and paste menu items (and command-key equivalents) which can be used on properties and values.
- Many inconsistencies in the user interface have been cleared up.
- NetInfoManager now has a Help menu, which provides access to the network administration online help.
Known Issues
- No support for setting up a mail server. The panel presented when creating a new master netinfo server has a checkbox labeled "Maintain the network's e-mail server." This checkbox has no effect, and should be ignored. Instructions for setting up a mail server on Mac OS X Server will be available on the Apple web site sometime after the release of Mac OS X Server.
