Mac OS X Server 1.x: SMB and CIFS Support

Mac OS X Server does not come with support for SMB or CIFS.
Note: This article pertains to Mac OS X Server versions 1.x, which were released prior to May 2001. Later versions of Mac OS X Server include SMB support.

Samba, which is freely available under the GNU public license, provides functionality with these protocols. For general information about Samba go to http://www.samba.org.
