The following are stored in the Finder Preferences file (Mac OS 8 and 9):
- Finder version
- All settings from the Finder Preferences window except Label colors and names (which are kept in the System suitcase file)
- Location of the Trash
- Trash warning flag
- Last window size and position for Clipboard, Copy windows, and the About this Computer window
- Location where Sherlock was last located so Command-F always uses the same application (Mac OS 8.5 and 9 only)
