iTunes 1.0: Rio 600, 800, and Nike PSA[play Appear in Source List When Turned Off

Symptom

You drag a song from a playlist or the library to the icon of an MP3 player in the Source list, and an alert box with the following error message appears:

"Attempting to write to media module 'internal Flash memory' failed with error 9001. The media may be defective."

Solution

The hardware MP3 player is probably turned off, but still appears in the Source list.

1. Disconnect the hardware MP3 player from the computer.
2. Turn the player on.
3. Reconnect it to your Macintosh computer.
4. Copy the song(s) to your player.
