iPhoto: Rotated Photos May Not Appear Rotated in Other Applications

Symptom

If you drag a photo rotated in iPhoto to another application, such as Mail, or to other document window, the photo is not rotated in the other application window or document.


Solution

Export the rotated photo first before using it in another application.

1. Select the photo in the iPhoto Organize or Edit window.
2. Choose Export from the File menu.
3. Click the File Export tab.
4. Change export options if desired.
5. Click Export.
6. Name and save the photo.
7. Import the saved photo into the other application or document.
