Before you install iTunes 3, you should:
- Quit iTunes 2 if it is open.
- Delete the iTunes 2 application if you dragged it outside of the Applications folder. If you do not delete it before installing, some files, including Help files, may not be updated correctly. The Read Me file for iTunes 3 states that you should delete iTunes 2 before installing iTunes 3. This is only necessary if you dragged the file outside the Applications folder.
- Consider updating your iPod to iPod Software 1.2 or later (when it becomes available) in order to take advantage of the feature of iTunes 3.
- Make sure you don't have an empty iTunes folder in the Music folder. If you have created a folder named "iTunes" in your Music folder, iTunes 3 will use that folder for your music library. If your music library is not in the ~Music/iTunes/ folder and is in the Documents folder instead, your library will appear to be empty. Quit iTunes 3, rename the folder to "iTunesOld", for example, and reopen iTunes 3.
