Follow these steps to troubleshoot the installation of iPod for Windows software:
1. System Requirements
Make sure your computer meets the system requirements to use iPod for Windows. See technical document 60971, "iPod: System Requirements".
2. Make sure you are logged in as a Windows Administrator user if you're using Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
3. Make sure the iPod for Windows CD is not dirty or scratched.
4. Quit out of all other application programs before installing.
5. Quit of the Installer and try to install again.
If you accidentally started several instances of the Installer, quit out of all instances before opening the Installer again.
6. Restart your computer.
7. Earlier version of MUSICMATCH Jukebox
If you already have an earlier version of MUSICMATCH Jukebox installed, and are having issues installing the version that came with iPod for Windows, uninstall (remove) the previous version of MUSICMATCH Jukebox, and then install the iPod for Windows software. To uninstall MUSICMATCH Jukebox, click 'Start' from your Windows Taskbar, go to 'Settings/Control Panels/Add/Remove Programs' and select MUSICMATCH Jukebox from the Install/Uninstall tab.
8. Do not Change Focus
If you change focus off the installer onto another application, some of the user interface elements of the Installer may not function properly, such as pop-up menus. If this happens, try double-clicking the Back button twice, and then click Next to refresh the Installer window.
9. Must Install on C Drive
iPod for Windows software must be installed on the C drive in order to work.
