iDVD 2.1: Slideshow Project Does Not Burn on First Try

Symptom

When you burn an iDVD project that contains a slideshow:

• the burn process stops at Step 2.
• the DVD-R disc, which is still blank, is ejected.
• a prompt tells you to insert a blank disc.
• the pointer turns into a spinning disc.

Solution

After iDVD ejects the blank disc, wait a few minutes for the spinning disc to turn back into a pointer. Then, reinsert the disc you were using. iDVD should complete the burn this time.
