Installing MUSICMATCH Jukebox Software

The MUSICMATCH Jukebox installer automatically opens after Apple's iPod Software installer is finished. Follow these steps to install and set up MUSICMATCH Jukebox.
Installing Software

  1. After the iPod for Windows installer is finished, the MUSICMATCH Jukebox installer open about 30 seconds later.

  2. When the Welcome window appears, read the text, and click Next:





  3. When the Software License Agreement window appears, read the text, and click Yes if you agree:





  4. Fill out the User Registration information and click Next:





    You must complete the Year of Birth and E-mail fields to continue. If you click Next and have not filled out these fields, a window appears prompting you to go back and fill out the information:





  5. When the Personal Music Recommendations window appears, read the text and select the "Yes (recommended)" or "No" option, and click Next:





    If you click Next without selecting "Yes (recommended)" or "No", a dialog appears requesting you to make a selection:





  6. When the Installation Options window appears, select the type of installation you want, then click Next:





    If you select Express (Recommended), the Copying MUSICMATCH Jukebox Files progress bar appears:





    For about a minute, a few more progress windows appear while MUSICMATCH Jukebox continues its installation.

  7. If you select Custom, the following dialog boxes appear (otherwise skip to Step 9):

    • You can specify where the software is installed by clicking the Browse button:





      Unlike the iPod for Windows software, the MUSICMATCH Jukebox software works properly if installed on a hard disk volume other than C.

    • The Music folder destination can be specified:





    • The radio cache can be turned on or off:





    • The program icons location can be selected:





    • Shortcut locations can be selected:





    • File type associations (to MUSICMATCH Jukebox) can be selected:





  8. After clicking Next, MUSICMATCH Jukebox begins the installation:





    For about a minute, a few more progress windows appear while MUSICMATCH Jukebox continues its installation.

  9. Next, the Welcome to MUSICMATCH iPod Plug-in window appears. Click Next:





  10. Click Yes to the license agreement if you agree:





  11. The MUSICMATCH Jukebox upgrade key is located on the cover sleeve of the installation CD. Enter the key when prompted, then click OK:





    Entering the upgrade key allows you to install the MUSICMATCH Jukebox Plus version of MUSICMATCH Jukebox. The Plus version has many extra features not available in the MUSICMATCH Jukebox Basic version (such as CD burning, label making, and so forth.). For a complete list of MUSICMATCH Jukebox Plus features, see to the MUSICMATCH homepage. Both the Basic version and the Plus version have the same iPod support feature set.

  12. If the key was entered correctly, the following dialog box appears:





    If you selected Cancel or do not type in the correct upgrade key, the Basic version of MUSICMATCH Jukebox is installed. Either version of the MUSICMATCH Jukebox software allows you to manage iPod. The additional features in the Plus version have no direct impact on managing iPod with MUSICMATCH Jukebox.
    If the CD sleeve is not available during installation, the upgrade key can be entered later from the MUSICMATCH Jukebox application.

  13. As the installation finishes, an alert appears:





  14. When the InstallShield Wizard Complete window appears, select one of the two options, then click Finish. Restart the computer after installation:





  15. After restarting, you can open MUSICMATCH Jukebox. When it is first opened, these two windows appear:









At this point, you can use MUSICMATCH Jukebox to manage music files. If you are unfamiliar with MUSICMATCH Jukebox's features, use the Help menu in the MUSICMATCH Jukebox window, or go to the Learning More section of the MUSICMATCH website.
