The Apple StyleWriter and the Macintosh Portable appear to have similar<BR>
power adapters.  Can they be interchanged?<BR>

Extreme care should be taken when using a StyleWriter with the Macintosh<BR>
Portable.<BR>
 <BR>
The Apple StyleWriter and the Macintosh Portable have physically<BR>
identical power adaptor connectors.  However, they are NOT electically<BR>
identical.  If you connect a StyleWriter power adaptor (while unplugged<BR>
from a wall outlet) to the Macintosh Portable, the 3.15 amp fuse inside<BR>
the StyleWriter power adaptor blows.<BR>
 <BR>
The problem is that the Portable power adaptor is center positive, 7.5V,<BR>
and the StyleWriter unit is center negative, 9.5V.<BR>
