Because applications share available memory, your application may not have
enough memory to open your document. You can easily increase the amount of
memory that your application uses with System 7, so that you can open and
work with any of your existing documents.
Here is a procedure to increase application memory:
1) Quit the application.
2) Find and select the application.
3) Choose Get Info from the File menu in the Finder.
4) At the bottom of the Info box is a field labeled "Application Memory
Size." The number in this box is the amount of memory (like 1024K) used
by the application when you run it.
5) To increase the memory for this application, change the number in
the Application Memory Size field. For example, if you are running a
Macintosh computer with 4MB of RAM, you might increase the number to
as much as about 3000K. Consult your application's manual for
specific recommendations.
Of course, you can always add more RAM memory to the computer.
