No.  The Apple Tape Backup 40SC software and Tape Disk system extension are<BR>
not compatible with System 7, and no update is planned. Apple recommends<BR>
the use of third-party backup software for use with the Apple Tape Backup<BR>
40SC. (The Apple Tape Backup 40SC hardware is fully compatible with all<BR>
Macintosh models running System 7.)<BR>
<BR>
Take the following steps to recover system information from tapes <BR>
generated with the Apple Tape Backup 40SC: <BR>
<BR>
1) Use a System 6-based Macintosh to recover the files.  <BR>
<BR>
2) Use the File Sharing capability of System 7 to transfer the files<BR>
   to the System 7 system.  <BR>
<BR>
<BR>
In the case of a complete hard disk recovery, follow these steps:<BR>
<BR>
1) Install System 6 on the hard disk.  <BR>
<BR>
2) Use Tape Backup 40SC to recover the information.<BR>
<BR>
3) Reinstall System 7.<BR>
