Is a step-down transformer required for using a Personal LaserWriter<BR>
overseas?  It appears that it does because on the back of the printer it<BR>
states 100-115v at 50-60 Hertz.  Also, why does the printer specification<BR>
sheet give both US/Japan and European/Australian power requirements?<BR>

As with our other LaserWriter printers, there are voltage-specific versions<BR>
available. There are actually two different Personal LaserWriters versions:<BR>
one for the US/Japan market and the other for the European/Australian<BR>
market.<BR>
 <BR>
You do need a step-down transformer if you take a Personal LaserWriter<BR>
overseas, just as you would for any LaserWriter or LaserWriter II.<BR>
