System 7: Don‘t Unmount a Floppy Disk from a Desk Accessory

Under System 7, whenever I use a desk accessory to unmount (but not eject)
a floppy disk, my system crashes.


A third party incompatiblity causes this.  This involves only those few
desk accessories (DiskTop is one) that have an unmount feature.  The only
workaround is to avoid unmounting disks from within desk accessories.
There's no problem with simply ejecting floppy disks (leaving their icons
visible on the desktop).
