No.  The specifications for the Macintosh SE's SCSI port (both internal<BR>
and external) are the same world-wide; it's only the power supply/analog<BR>
boards that cause the confusion.  You should be able to purchase any<BR>
internal or external SCSI device and attach it to the Macintosh SE without<BR>
a problem.<BR>
