Using a Macintosh IIsi and System 6.0.7, I keep getting an error -61 when<BR>
playing sound in the Control Panel, especially when recording and saving<BR>
sound files.<BR>

  <div class="attr SUMMARY">
A -61 error is a &quot;Write Permissions Error&quot; where the Macintosh System is<BR>
keeping the active application from making changes to a file or directory<BR>
structure.  If the problem is occurring in the Control Panel, this suggests<BR>
a locked file somewhere in the System Folder (basically, no System file<BR>
should ever be locked) or a corrupt Desktop.<BR>
<BR>
If all of the System files are unlocked and the problem persists, we<BR>
recommend trashing and reinstalling the System Folder using the Installer<BR>
on your system disks.<BR>
