.Mac iDisk: Filenames Appears as Random Characters

Files copied to iDisk must use either MacJapanese or MacRoman character sets.
Symptom

Files on your iDisk appear to have filenames composed of random characters when you connect to your iDisk using Apple File Protocol (AFP).

Solution

Keep in mind that special characters in filenames can cause problems on some computers. If using the Roman alphabet, use only uppercase letters (A-Z), lowercase letters (a-z), numbers (0-9), and the underscore (_) in your filenames.
