AppleWorks 6.1.2: Files Exported to DOS-Formatted Disks Are Not Saved

Symptom

AppleWorks does not save a file when:

• You choose to export the file using one of the included translators, such as "Save As Word 98 document".
• You choose to save the file onto a DOS-formatted floppy disk.

Warning: If you export the file using a filename that already exists on the disk, the existing file may be deleted, and the new file will not be saved.


Note: This symptom does not occur with DOS-formatted Zip or SuperDisk disks.

Solution

1. Export the file and save it on your computer's hard disk.
2. Copy the file to the floppy disk.
