Final Cut Pro 4: Compressor - Droplets May Require Movies Have Filename Extensions

Droplets created with Compressor may not recognize movies unless they have a filename extension such as ".mov".
Symptom

The droplet does not highlight when you drag a movie file icon on it.


Solution

There are two options to use the droplet:

Option 1


  1. Rename the movie to include the filename extension ".mov". Example: "newmovie.mov".
  2. Drag the renamed file to the droplet.


Option 2

  1. Double-click the droplet.
  2. Drag the movie to the Source File section of the Droplet window (Figure 1).
  3. Click the Submit button.
